"This is the best festival for parental support and volunteers - unbelievable!"

- Jeff Reynolds, 2005 CRMF Concert Band adjudicator

November 1, 2013

Dear Music Director,

Welcome to the 38th year of CRMF! Please read this registration package very carefully.
NOTE: You must register through the CRMF website (www.crmf.on.ca).

CRMF 2014 will offer 90 Concert Band/Orchestra/Chamber Ensemble performance slots and 30 Jazz Ensemble/Combo performance slots. Entries will be registered by date of receipt with full payment (post-dated cheques will not be accepted) AND full completion and submission of the online registration form found at http://www.crmf.on.ca. If the number of entries received exceeds the number of available performance times, some ensembles will not be accepted - even if received before the deadline. Please register early to avoid disappointment! You will receive a confirmation package only after all groups have been processed. Once your registration has been confirmed, no refunds will be issued.

Ratings and Repertoire

  • As an officially-sanctioned MusicFest Canada Regional, CRMF adjudicators rate participating ensembles using the recognized Gold, Silver, Bronze & Merit standards of excellence utilized by MusicFest Canada. The number and level of awards presented in any category will be at the sole discretion of the adjudicators.

  • All Jazz Ensembles must perform three contrasting selections with opportunities for improvisation; one must be a ballad. No fewer than 9 or more than 24 performers are permitted on stage during any single selection. • Ensembles wishing to use the 2nd year of their 2013 Nationals invitation must fulfil all requirements as dictated by the National office, and perform in a MusicFest Regional Festival to determine, through accurate evaluation, that the ensemble has retained a standard of performance that meets the standards established by the Regional Festival. Ensembles that qualified for 2013 Nationals last year should have already received their 2nd year invitations.
